Overall, I really enjoyed this class. Reading the Handmaids Tale and connecting it to real world problems was super eye opening. I hardly ever paid attention to the news before taking this class. Now I feel educated enough on some things to actually talk about it and have a stance on issues when I hear people talking about them. I took 3 years off of school after graduating from High School to work, so jumping back into English and Math, I literally forgot everything. I learned a lot about writing essays, I literally forgot what a thesis was... yeah. So anyways, I think it's really cool that I was able to learn so much about politics and "wake up" to the news and problems in the world that are going on around me every day! I feel like I'm pretty woke now, and I'm inspired to stay woke from here on out.
GOALS:
This was my first full semester in college. My plan is to keep going with school and general ed. I've always been interested in agriculture, I raised pigs in the FFA throughout high school and spent a lot of summers on my families dairy farms in upstate NY, so I might want to study more of that. I definitely want to get my AA, then hopefully transfer to a CSU. I'm taking a career planning class this Spring, so hopefully that'll help me figure out my major. Just trynna live life to the fullest.
Pictures of a calf on my uncles dairy farm, my homemade spicy guacamole that I'm obsessed with, and my favorite of my 3 cats. Three things that I love dearly, and I'll keep taking pictures of.
